The Carpenter's Pride

Once there was a gift laid bare
With hands made of steel
He adorned a sculptured work
Made of wood - mahogany and teal

Laid out as broken pieces
The wooden structure took its place
A little time, A little space with lots of nails
Strike thee once and strike thee twice
A table bare, a chair to care
A creative pride
Of a Carpenter's prime

He laid them out for all to see
And bid them come and bid for a fee
And one by one, none not in a line
They foresaw his trade
As a work of art, a trade that thrives
As a Carpenter's Pride...
