Wishing on One

Image result for free images of the stars

They say sometimes the stars light up against the face of the earth
And sometimes they seem so far but not the least when it shows itself
against the darkness of the sky...

Sometimes it glows anew becoming a grand view
of constellation twinkling between stars of larger and large
One of those magical shows that boasts of colors bright
and I stand aside watching the sky come alive

Sometimes I get all ashone with vivid colors of bold
Twinkling a myriad of sprays of dazzling white and blue
amidst the brazen display of grace

Sometimes I see those stars aglow just wishing on one
for a timeless night of love..

When we dance

Image result for free images of a girl and a boy dancing

The stage is set for the dance of a lifetime
The music playing softly in the background
The band plays our song and we walk to the dance floor

He takes her hand swaying to the rhythm
And holds her close in his arms
She puts her head on his shoulders
And feel the beat of his heart
Two lovers made one

The lights dim and the music low
Our love light shining in our eyes
Our dance one of love everlasting

And as we dance
The music fades and the people disappear

When we dance its just you and me.

Celebrating 40 years of Bilateral Ties

Ikhmas High Level - Public Lecture celebrating the 40th Anniversary of
Bilateral Relations between Cuba & Malaysia with a special address by H.E. Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohammad
held at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia - Bangi

On the 9th of February, 2015 I had the honor of being invited by the Cuban Embassy here to attend a public lecture at the UKM, Bangi to commemorate 40 years of bilateral ties between Cuba and Malaysia. Indeed a very mutually and favorable partnership based on friendship and co-relations in many areas of working together for the benefit of both countries.

The welcoming address was by the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia,Yang Bahagia Prof.Dr. Noor Azlan bin Ghazali who extended a keynote address enlightening us on the various aspects of co-operation and programs with regards to the celebration which is a joint effort by both countries. Extending a warm welcome to the Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia, Mr Rubén Pérez Valdés to deliver his speech, he was the epitome of a comrade with similar aspirations by both countries.

In delivering his speech, Mr Rubén Pérez Valdés touched on the cooperation relayed a message of further improvements in the relations between both countries by mutual understanding and co-operation. His further welcome to H.E. Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohammad to address the public lecture was made in my opinion to someone befitting much respect and a personal friendship enjoyed by Cuba's Fidel Castro and His Excellency Tun.

True to my belief, when H.E.Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad ventured on his topic, I could sense a comradeship between the two countries that is beyond that of bilateral ties, one of personal friendship and co-operation. I believe that much can be gained by this alliance in many areas. His Excellency mentioned in his address of the gain in research advancements and touched on ways that our country could also contribute to the people of Cuba.

There is definitely a win-win situation by this alliance and I would like to congratulate both Malaysia and Cuba on this anniversary celebrating bilateral ties. Forty years is a solid foundation to work on and strive by and we are indeed on the right path to a bright future together - shobana

The Enemy Within

On a seemingly normal day, the hustle and bustle of the city and its inhabitants don't leave much to imagination. Every day as is norm, people carry on with their random duties and lives. However, unknown to the eye of the unsuspecting lie dangers of aliens that move and mingle along those random lines accustomizing themselves and fitting into the environment.
They watch, learn and pick up the habits of the local populace of any given city, intersperse with the commoners and learn the language of the locals. Much too soon they become one of the populace - a citizen of their city of dwelling, a common face and in a fastidious fashion, a local!
These people with their drive for success and high living become the new generation of elites. Behind the exterior of excellence, they hide the raison d'etre of their aspirations and that of being a by-product of militancy - trained and educated in terrorism. They plan, conclude and execute their aspiration of a much detailed hidden vision outlining their manifesto of terror related activities. Armed with a wealth of education and created in the likelihood of the common man, they wait their time to put forth their plan to action.
It is a known fact that these terrorist are usually harmless and law abiding citizens before they begin their crusade. Trained from young, they are taught to be ready to sacrifice themselves at any given point of time. Their main aim is to detract the visions of the larger community, create a nation of like minded individuals and in doing so kill the opposing factions.
Most times they are brutal in their slander and perceived as ruthless.
These days being days of modern living, it is indeed a jarring wake up call to the atrocities committed by these terrorists. Where have we gone wrong? Even after endless wars, their break up cells multiply in numbers! It is indeed a sad day in history today when we realize that these wars caused by pride, egos and tribal disputes have not aged with time - in fact they have risen with the times.
The spillover effect has now seeped into our Asian society. The region is beseiged with enemies within. Misinformed and easily swayed youths eager to fight with their lives at stake and commissioned with suicidal tendencies are trained and taught to kill at command. They are lured and taught these ideologies of the wicked who instruct and use them for their own agenda. Being young and mostly poor, they begin their journey into martyrdom promised by their teachers of faith, blocking their growth and stay disconnected from society - their minds a slave to false attributes and teachings.
Will it end soon - this endless battle of differences - not until every mind has been educated and reasoned to think equally in terms of respect and tolerance for its diversity. Not until we realize that our time on earth is to nurture and not destroy, to learn and discover, to live in peace and put to practice what we preach. It is indeed sad to see that religion causes strife when all it should do is to bring peace and harmony.
